Min Voltage for 2nd Gen Coil Pack?

Postby bowie » Fri Jul 27, 2018 10:24 pm

Just trying to diagnose a recent issue, whats the minimum voltage required for a Bosch 2nd Gen coil pack to function?

I have a 12v feed that was until recently, working a treat. With the mutlimeter on it now, I note it's now only passing ~ 11.7 volts prior to cranking (hopefully just a weak battery, and a charge will bring it back up). At this the ECU works, but I can't get an ignition event out of the coil pack.

So really I just want to confirm that, this is correct and ~11.7 is to low to fire the coil.

If it would normally fire under those conditions I'll need to check other things :(

Cheers,

Scratch that, it did turn out to be other things.

One of the coil pack drivers spewed out it's guts :(

Look away if easily frightened by damaged circuitry

Just realised this is in the wrong part of the forum, regardless. Thanks for fixing the ECU Motor-sport Electronics. It arrived back, all happy happy :)
